Details of the center-fill, kevlar encased,
fuel bladder for Porsche 911
A unique collaboration between a
technician and a racer has resulted in
a one-of-a-kind fuel bladder for the Porsche enthusiast. Developed at
Ital Meccanica in Huntington Beach, CA, this racing fuel cell is now
available for customers.
The racing fuel bladder is made of ballistic nylon and urethane
composite. The outer shell is comprised of a kevlar and fiberglass
sandwich with vinyl esther resin. Lower fittings in 9/16 AN are supply
and return. Catch tank or “swirl pot” is fitted at bottom of tank for
consistency of fuel supply while at speed. Venting has rollover
protection valve with check ball. Neck dimension is 4 inches (101.6mm)
diameter. Tank is supplied with neck and cap separate from top
plate for custom fitting to decklid. The result is a high-tech replica
of the legendary
110 liter tank used in competition in the 1960’s and 1970’s. FIA
certification is pending.
On sale now for $3950 for tank without
neck and cap. 50% deposit required to begin construction. Depending
on
customer needs, filler neck and cap can be ordered for $600 to $900.
Center hole in deck lid can be manufactured at shop in Huntington
Beach, CA at extra cost.
