Academic Enrichment
At 抖阴pro, we recognise that all students have God-given gifts and talents that require stimulating and challenging learning programs. To support our gifted and talented students, the College offers a suite of Academic Enrichment and Ignite Excellence Programs and opportunities.听
WHAT IS THE ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM?
At 抖阴pro, the Academic Enrichment Program supports听students who are:
- Intellectually gifted; or
- Demonstrate high levels of academic talent, for their age, across subjects.听
Students who join the Academic Enrichment Program receive personalised support (e.g. academic, wellbeing, perfectionism, organisation) from a Case Manager and an individualised Academic Enrichment Plan. Competitions, a university visitation program, and excursions are also part of the Academic Enrichment Program.听
Any student can apply for the Academic Enrichment Program of the College. Applicants will sit an assessment to ascertain if they qualify for the program. For more information, please contact the Academic Enrichment Coordinator of the Campus.听
Separate to the Academic Enrichment Program, all students at 抖阴pro can apply for the various Ignite Excellence Programs. These programs are for students who demonstrate high levels of talent within a particular subject area such as Mathematics, Science, English Literature, Sport, Music, Dance etc.听
The Ignite Excellence Programs are specific to each Campus of the College. Students do not have to be in the Academic Enrichment Program to be in an Ignite Excellence Program.听
Students should apply for the Academic Enrichment Program and the Ignite Excellence Programs as part of their enrolment process. Testing can be completed before the child commences at the College to ensure correct class placement.听
APPLICATION PROCESS
Contact the Academic Enrichment Coordinator for Rothwell - academicenrichment@glc.qld.edu.au or the Academic Enrichment Coordinator for Caboolture - academicenrichmentcc@glc.qld.edu.au to request the Raven鈥檚 2 Permission Form.听
Applicants will then sit the Raven鈥檚 2 Progressive Matrices Exam at the College. No preparation is needed. Those who score on or above the 90th percentile rank, qualify for the Academic Enrichment Program under the high IQ pathway. Alternatively, students can qualify under the Academic Talent pathway by achieving an Academic Honours Award at the College for two consecutive years. Students can apply to sit the Raven鈥檚 2 exam at any time.
INDIVIDUALISED ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PLANS
As part of the Academic Enrichment Program, individualised Academic Enrichment Plans are written for participating students. These holistic plans identify personal areas of strength and power and can include academics, wellbeing, personal development, anxiety, perfectionism, disabilities at play, executive functioning skills/organisation and more. The plans are implemented by classroom teachers and the Academic Enrichment Case Manager.听

IGNITE EXCELLENCE PROGRAMS
At 抖阴pro, we want to encourage every student to identify and unpack all their God-given gifts and talents.听
As such, all students at 抖阴pro can also apply for our听Ignite Excellence Programs and Opportunities. These programs听are for students who demonstrate high levels of talent within a particular subject area.听Students do not have to be in the Academic Enrichment Program to qualify for the Ignite Excellence programs and opportunities.
Students are encouraged to apply for the Ignite Excellence programs and opportunities during Term 2 of the year prior to entry. Late applications are accepted throughout the year, but subject to availability. Use the link above to view the various Ignite Excellence activities and their application packages.
