Chaplaincy

At Grace, our Chaplaincy Team are passionate to provide opportunities for Grace students to:

Experience God’s grace and belong in authentic Christian community;

Enrich others and the world through acts of service and using their God-given gifts;

Explore their questions of faith and the world-changing life of Jesus Christ; and

Excel at simply being themselves and reaching their God-given potential.

The Chaplaincy Team works closely with other members of Grace’s student welfare network to provide social, emotional, and spiritual support to students. They network with a variety of local churches and support organisations to accomplish this work. They partner with Grace’s Service-Learning coordinator to facilitate dynamic service experiences. They also collaborate with and mentor a wonderful team of student leaders, giving students a voice in “Faith and Service” and empowering the next generation of leaders.

Pastor Stephen Cronau - College Pastor, Rothwell and Caboolture

BSc (Hons), BTh, BMin

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:8 - 9

Stephen is a Grace alumnus, who had a background in research science prior to training for the office of the public ministry. Since his ordination in 2013, he has served as a pastor of the Lutheran Church of Australia, most recently in the St. Paul’s congregation in Townsville, Qld.

Stephen is married with two young boys. He is an avid sports fan (especially the Brisbane Broncos, whom he has followed since the club’s inception). Stephen is a grateful recipient of God’s amazing grace and has a passion for sharing God’s love and communicating God’s grace to others. He especially delights in sharing the riches of God’s word to encourage others in the faith.

Kris Forman - Senior Chaplain, Rothwell and Caboolture

DipMgt, BMin (Pastoral Studies), GradDipEd (Secondary)

“Most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” - Romans 5:7-8

Kris has qualifications in Pastoral Ministry, Teaching, Management and Youth Ministry. He served for 9 years as a Youth and Young Adults Pastor at a dynamic Brisbane church before transitioning to school-based work. Kris commenced at Grace College in 2010 at the Caboolture campus, serving as Campus Chaplain and Christian Studies Coordinator. In 2018, he began in the role of Senior Chaplain where he currently oversees the wider Chaplaincy team.

Kris is married with teenage children, loves the beach, fishing, sport in general and trying to stay fit. One fun fact about Kris is that he once narrowly avoided a car crash whilst giving Nick Vujicic (Life Without Limbs) a lift.

Meaghan Gray - Campus Chaplain, Rothwell

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

Meaghan is the Campus Chaplain at Rothwell. She is currently studying Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care. She loves to keep active which includes dancing, going to the gym and drinking A LOT of (great) coffee. She grew up in Melbourne where her love for coffee grew and was involved in a dance ministry that took her all over the country performing dances and running body-image workshops. Meaghan has had many different jobs, ranging from working in a hairdresser, building electrical converters, to then living in Darwin to work in a Juvenile Detention Centre.

 Her favourite thing about Brisbane is the beaches and how kind people are. Meaghan loves trying new things and getting creative but something that will never change is her love for God and for helping young people know their worth and how much they are loved. Meaghan is still involved in the dance ministry and helps run annual dance camps in Melbourne.
