Teacher Aide & Department Assistant - Business Department, Rothwell Campus

Teacher Aide and Department Assistant for the Business Education Department, reporting to the Learning Lead, to provide efficient and practical support to the Business Department staff and students.

Position type:
Permanent, Part time/Term Time contract. 24 hours per week (Preferred days and hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 2.30pm).
Anticipated Commencement Date:
 Term 3, 2025

About You

This position would suit someone with a commitment to the ethos, Christian values and teachings of the College. The suitable candidate will also have:
>The ability to assist teachers with business ventures in class, hiring of equipment by other departments, ordering of supplies for business ventures, liaise with finance for floats etc, bookings for business ventures (equipment and storage) and assistance for business venture fundraising days
>Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to learn digital technologies used in the classroom. This would include assistance to teachers and in class supervision of students. Technology may include Robots, drones and iPads – i.e. making, fixing, charging, downloading software and assistance for special workshops.
>Demonstrated competence and confidence in using a personal computer and relevant software packages eg Microsoft Word and Excel.
>Knowledge and prior use of the College Administration package (TASS) would be an advantage.
>The ability to demonstrate general office, College and Business Department administrative procedures.
>Demonstrated capacity for self-management, collaborative decision-making, being a member of a team, and the ability to accept, promote and manage change in a positive manner.
>Proven ability to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, set priorities, be well-organized and able to work under pressure and constant interruptions.
>Demonstrated good level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to staff, students and the wider College Community.
>Demonstrated understand of WH&S policies and procedures.
>Working with Children accreditation (Blue Card) or ability to obtain this accreditation.
>Tertiary qualification at Certificate IV level advantageous.
